Meeting was called to order at 5:31 by Susan Hunter
Motion by Gary Rayburn and seconded by Jane Brown to accept the April meeting minutes.

Over 400 people attended the library open house last month
Curtis Dancer, City of Alma Finance Director, will be at our June meeting. He will accept questions early.
New meeting time for Alma Library Friends
Discussion about changing the Alma Library Friends meeting time or date. The Wright House restoration meeting is the same day and some members are in both groups.
Decided to keep our meetings as the 4th Thursday of the month but change the time to 4:30.

There won't be a candidates forum for city commissioners because no opposition for those running for office.
Would like to do something to recognize library staff. Will give them a $10 gift certificate to Ballyhoo Books for their birthday.
Presentation by Morgan Most, new Parks and Recreation Coordinator for the city of Alma. This is a new year-round position. Morgan is networking with community groups to learn what's presently going on. New activities - mini golf, game night in the park, Wright Park presentations every Tuesday evening. All dates and details will be on Facebook Walking club got lots of interest. Need a walking club coordinator. Ideas generated by ALF for library-centered programs Morgan might help us with.

Coffee program –history, tasting, different countries’ coffee customs
Wine program – local vineyard VandeMark Farm & Vineyard wine history, tasting
Blues History, get local expert Robert Barclay to present, show of his photos?
In coming years try for 1 adult program/month, alternating informational and fundraising
Fun fact - the library had 9,000 people in the first 4 months of this year attend library events!
